For the past 50 years the Carnes family has been in the business of commercial flooring. Originally, Carnes Brothers, Inc. was incorporated in 1958, by Tom and Grover Carnes, and later joined by brother Pete. Carnes Brothers, Inc. was first put on the map upon completion of the Atlanta Merchandise Mart in 1962. Over the next thirty years, the Carnes brothers built their company into one of the top commercial flooring companies in the U.S. with annual sales of over $10 million. Some of the prominent Atlanta projects completed by Carnes Brothers, Inc. include: Coca Cola North Avenue, Bell South Tower, and GA Pacific Tower.


In the fall of 1992, the Carnes brothers sold the company to Tom's son Tommy. The company then went on to complete such projects as the Atlanta Federal Building, and the Home Depot Store Support Center. In January of 1996, Carnes Brothers, Inc. was sold to Dupont.


January 2000 saw the incorporation of Carnes Contract Floors, Inc. With a company logo that represents, "Three Generations of Flooring," the Carnes family returned to the family business atmosphere. Carnes Contract Floors employs a dedicated sales and administration staff that along with the Carnes family, provide the quality of service worthy of the family name.
